Campus Ambulance
Over the past semester the U of M EMS Club, in conjunction with Huron Valley Ambulance (HVA), has been participating in the development of a Basic Life Support (BLS) First Response Unit.
Staffed by EMS club members who are employed as EMT’s at HVA, the ambulance responds to 911 calls within U of M and the surrounding City of Ann Arbor. This aids in minimizing response times and allows for prompt initial assessment/treatment prior to transportation to definitive care by higher licensed personnel. In addition, the ambulance also assists with local interfacility transfers from U of M’s University Hospital.
